cinnamon creative sessions

cinnamon creative sessions are workshops for children aged 4 to 9, designed to encourage creativity, stimulate curiosity and develop critical thinking skills. Inspired by publications from cinnamon art stories, our sessions allow children to express themselves, and bring their imagination to life through fun activities and shared conversations.

We have collaborated with organisations like UNIQLO, CRIB and The Esplanade - PIP's Playbox, as well as customised activities for birthday parties and private events.

Create a Story!

Children bring their imagination and memories to life and learn to remember the little details around them through illustrating 4 scenes. The Create a Story! session trains photographic memory and attention to detail. (Recommended for ages 3 to 7)

Create a Picture Book!

Children create a narrative from their imagination through an 8-page picture book! They learn how to structure a story and incorporating different elements to make the story more exciting. The Create a Picture Book! session encourages originality and creativity in children. (Recommended for ages 8 to 11)

Haiku Writing

Children will learn about Japanese aesthetics and the fundamentals of haiku, and transform their memories into a short poem! The Haiku Writing session develops clarity of thought and effective communication. (Recommended for ages 7 to 11)

Haiku is a short form of poetry, originating from Japan. Haiku often capture a fleeting moment in time, inspired by nature. The language and imagery used are simple but meaningful.

Design an Interior

Children design a residential interior of their own, taking inspiration from architectural styles and cultural influences. They learn about major design concepts, furniture designers, spatial and shape-related elements. Our Design an Interior session refines your child's eye for detail, design and personal taste. (Recommended for ages 7 to 10)

Create and Curate a Dinner

Children become dinner hosts one day through role play. We discuss different cuisines and dietary preferences, and children craft their very own multi-course menu! They will also learn about international etiquette and different table settings. The Create and Curate a Dinner session trains soft skills and diplomacy, and inspires children to become friendly hosts. (Recommended for ages 7 to 10)

Harkness Sessions

Inspired by the Harkness method developed at Phillips Exeter Academy, participants read a piece of text, develop questions to ask their peers and contribute to the lively discussion. Through this collaborative approach, our Harkness Sessions help your child focus on active listening, as well as develop speaking and critical thinking skills. *Please note that this is a discussed-based workshop and not a lecture. Your child must do the text reading prior to the session. (Recommended for ages 9 to 12)

Read more about the Harkness approach here.

Storytelling Sessions

Storytelling Sessions are a fun and engaging way to explore cinnamon art stories picture book publications. Children sit in a circle and are encouraged to share their observations and questions about the pictures, details and language used in the books. The Storytelling Sessions help each child’s critical thinking and communication skills. (Recommended for ages 3 to 6)

Art Activities

These hands-on art activity workshops explore different artistic concepts and styles of international artists. They help train your child's motor skills, originality and creativity. (Recommended for ages 3 to 9)
