cinnamon art stories Exploring Art and Create a Story! workshops at Perk by Kate will take place from 17 to 20 March 2021, and are suitable for children aged 4 to 8.

 

(1) Create a Story! [ 17 - 19 Mar ] Use your imagination and memories to create a story of your own! Participants will be guided through the foundations of story creation through ideas, pictures, language and structure. Create a Story! sessions will be led by Laura Peh, founder of cinnamon art stories.

(2) Exploring Art [ 20 Mar ] These hands-on art activity sessions are inspired by cinnamon art stories Exploring Art collection, and led by art educator Khor Ting Yan.

 

  • 11am - 12pm

  • 2pm - 3pm
  • 3pm - 4pm
  • 4pm - 5pm

 

 

  • 11am - 12pm: Make an artwork of yourself, clothed in gold patterned fabric! Austrian artist Gustav Klimt turned gold into his signature colour. He was also great at patterns!

 

 

  • 12pm - 1pm: British artist David Hockney made many portraits in his lifetime. Create a portrait of a person you love, just like Hockney!

 

 

  • 1pm - 2pm: Dutch artist Piet Mondrian wanted to draw people's attention to the simplicity of geometric shapes and lines. Create your own version of Mondrian's artwork using shapes and lines!

 

 

  • 2pm - 3pm: Use recycled materials to create your own revolutionary robot! Korean artist Nam June Paik made use of technology and screens to create artworks!

 

 

  • 3pm - 4pm: When French artist Louise Bourgeois felt frightened during her childhood, she turned to art making as a form of expression. Explore the use of oil pastel techniques, colours and lines to create an artwork expressing our emotions!

  


  • 4pm - 5pm: Experiment with ink and create your own ink painting! Chinese artist Wu Guanzhong uses the different values (lights and darks) of Chinese ink to create his beautiful landscapes

  

 

Cost: S$50 per child per session (includes 1 book from the Exploring Art collection and activity materials)

Venue: Perk by Kate, 134A Telok Ayer St, Singapore

Each session will be limited to 6 participants.
